Some suggestions...

Would you like to play a key role in helping the College maintain its position as a high quality provider of post- 16 education in Burton and South Derbyshire?

The Corporation of the College is seeking motivated and dynamic volunteers to join it to help shape the educational character, strategic direction and mission of the College.

The Corporation includes people from a range of backgrounds, with a variety of skills and knowledge, who make a vital contribution to the continuing development of the College.

We are looking for individuals with a commitment to ensuring high quality general education for young people, who can work as part of a team and who may have business or strategic management experience.

If you are able to attend 6-9 meetings a year of the Corporation and its Committees and think that you could contribute to our continuing success, we would like to hear from you.

Applicants from both the private and public sector are welcome. The College would particularly welcome applicants from a diverse range of cultural and ethnic backgrounds. Although Members are not paid, expenses may be claimed.

    Student Governor

As a student, Burton and South Derbyshire College encourages you to take an active role in discussing and deciding on things that affect your time with us. We want to hear what you have to say, what we can change, and what new ideas can be developed to improve the College experience.

Issues we would like your input on can range from your personal studies, college facilities, trips, and enrichment activities. You may also want to contribute on wider general issues such as the environment, healthy living, bullying and drug use.

To make sure your voice is heard, we will be electing student governors and council members in September, who will voice your views and issues in college committees and fellow student union members.

Your voice can really make a difference
