Lauren Sleigh

Lauren began her role as governor after being appointed student union president in October 2016. She is currently studying fashion and textiles at BSDC and has aspirations to progress into Higher Education. Lauren aspires to a career in the fashion, design and textiles industry. Her designs are very popular and are used by the college as gifts for VIP visitors, including University Presidents from countries such as China, Japan and Korea. Lauren champions parity of opportunity for all of BSDC’s learners and is passionate about the future career value a college education can bring. Lauren wants the Student’s Union (SU) at BSDC to reach out to local schools so all pupils know about alternative routes of study other than school 6th form and sees this as a primary aspect of her role as SU President.
