BSDC students support Screamfest

Burton and South Derbyshire College (BSDC) students have been using their talents to scare during the National Forest Adventure Farm’s, Screamfest 2016.

Between 13th–31st October, the National Forest Adventure Farm is transformed at night into Screamfest, a terrifying Halloween experience, with five scare attractions.

All five attractions have strong storylines, show programmed music and lighting, detailed sets and defined characters. This year visitors could join the experiment to contact the undead in Night Bringer, find their way out of the clown maze in Freakout, take a hellish journey through the nightmare of a chilling childhood in Children of the Corn, join a TV crew to explore a possessed hotel in Soul Seekers and find their soul mate in Love Hurts.

Over the 14 night run, 50 BSDC Performing Arts students have supported the professional actors to provide horror fans with the ultimate fright night adventure. Hair and make-up artists for the event were also joined by 37 Hair and Media Make-Up Students, including 18 South Korean exchange students, who produced the professional creative effects.

Danielle Harris, Performing Arts Lecturer at Burton and South Derbyshire College commented: “Screamfest is a fantastic event and students are delighted to have the opportunity to get involved. Projects like this provide great work experience for students, as they prepare for careers in the creative industries.”
