Great British Barber Bash brings trending techniques to BSDC

Burton and South Derbyshire College (BSDC) recently hosted a modern barbering show, delivered by the Great British Barber Bash team.
Run by some of the biggest names in the barbering industry, the Great British Barber Bash team present barbering events across the U.K and beyond, offering educational opportunities to shops, salons and colleges.
During the session, the team of experienced barbering educators demonstrated the latest barbering techniques, giving tips, advice and inspiration to Level 2 and Level 3 Hair and Barbering learners.
Students and staff—including team members from BSDC’s partner, Lifestyle Barbers—watched a series of on-trend haircut demonstrations and had the opportunity to ask questions throughout. They also received an Osmo goody bag as part of the package.
The event marks an exciting moment for BSDC as the College strengthens its partnership with Lifestyle Barbers in Burton, allowing students to develop their skills in a live, commercial barbering salon. Designed to reflect modern urban hair trends, the curriculum will combine technical ability with knowledge of skin and hair conditions, hygiene and grooming best practices.
Burton and South Derbyshire College’s wider hairdressing courses cover the extensive skills and knowledge required for preparing to work in the hairdressing and barbering industry, including cutting, styling, blow-drying, setting, long-hair up-dos and colouring. Students on these courses also gain hands-on work experience in the College’s Innovations Salon, as well as placements in local salons and access to industry patrons and employer links.
