Festival unites student talent

13 April 2017

Creative learners at Burton and South Derbyshire College (BSDC) recently held their Unite Festival within their purpose studio build theatre.

The annual Unite Performing Arts Festival is organised by BSDC Dance students, and is designed to showcase their talents in a range of styles in front of a public audience.

The festival also celebrates the talent of the performing arts community with guest performances from local dance/gymnastic troops, as well as performing arts groups. The Unite Festival is packed full of different, exciting and inspirational performances and opportunities for students to develop and grow as performers. Moving forward, the dance department is exploring new and exciting opportunities to grow the festival for next year.

Josh Goodwin, Performing Arts Lecturer for BSDC commented: “We are proud of how the Unite Performing Arts Festival has grown over the years. The festival is a great opportunity for our students to perform and for the local community to get involved in a fantastic project.  A range of people from schools, community dance and theatre projects were involved, ranging from pre-school age to adults. It was a great opportunity for everyone to come together and celebrate performing arts.”
