- Creative, Design and Digital Media
From idea to prototype
Our creative and digital facilities provide everything students need to design, test and produce professional outcomes, blending traditional making skills with cutting‑edge digital production. Alongside industry‑relevant technology, learners have access to dedicated art studios, maker spaces, ceramics facilities, and new purpose‑built resources for fashion and textiles.
Students work with professional‑standard equipment including:
- Xencelabs pen displays
- UV and dye‑sublimation printing
- Hybrid laser cutters and 3D formers
By combining hands‑on craft, material experimentation and advanced digital tools, these spaces support rapid prototyping, portfolio development and live project work. Students are encouraged to think creatively while responding to real briefs and production constraints.
For employers, this means graduates who understand end‑to‑end creative processes, production workflows, deadlines and client expectations and who are confident moving between traditional techniques and modern digital practice.
- Performing Arts
Professional spaces for confident performers
Based at Fleet Street Studios, our dedicated performance and rehearsal spaces are purpose built for dance, theatre and live events. The main theatre is equipped with advanced projection mapping technology and conference standard facilities, enabling students to work with digital scenography, multimedia performance, presentations and hybrid events alongside traditional performance practice.
Students rehearse, perform and refine their craft in environments that closely replicate professional venues, developing strong technical ability alongside production awareness, planning and teamwork.
- Computer Science & Cyber Security
Ethical hacking. Real protection. Workplace‑ready skills.
In our specialist Cyber Security Lab, students engage with the realities of cyber threats and digital risk. Equipped with the latest technology and dedicated testing servers, learners undertake:
- Penetration testing
- Virtual hacking simulations
- Ethical security exercises within legal frameworks
This practical experience helps students to understand not just how attacks happen, but how organisations defend themselves. Employers benefit from graduates who already grasp risk management, compliance and digital resilience.
- Esports, Games & Digital Production
High performance. High production. High ambition.
Our Esports Arena combines competitive gaming, content creation and live production into one dynamic learning environment. Our facilities include:
- High‑spec gaming and production PCs (Corsair partnership)
- Broadcast‑quality cameras, lighting and audio equipment
- Feature stage for competitions and live events
- Games Development Suite with shared infrastructure
- VR and motion‑capture capabilities
Students are supported by experienced technicians who provide training in studio setup, streaming workflows and event production. We are actively developing these facilities into a dedicated Esports and Media Hub, co‑designed with industry partners, creating opportunities for live projects, sponsorship, placements and talent pipelines.
- Health, Social Care & Science
Safe spaces to practice real‑world care
Our Health Simulation Suite allows students to train in realistic, controlled environments that reflect modern healthcare and care settings. With replica wards and industry‑standard equipment, learners develop clinical confidence through scenario based learning before entering placement or employment.
For employers, this means students arrive on placement prepared, professional and familiar with workplace standards, reducing onboarding time and increasing effectiveness from day one.
- Education & Professional Practice
Collaboration across settings
Our hybrid learning environments, including spaces such as Biome, encourage collaboration between students, lecturers and professionals from different educational contexts. These flexible spaces support discussion, reflection and applied practice, reinforcing the professional identity of future educators and trainers.
- Construction & Engineering
Built for industry
The Stephen Burke Construction Academy offers purpose‑built workshops equipped with industry‑standard tools and technologies. Learning takes place in environments that replicate real working conditions, ensuring students develop practical skills, professional behaviours and an understanding of health, safety and sustainability expectations.
