Course overview
This course is aimed at learners who wish to explore the creative potential of clay. You will learn the art of hand-building through workshop instruction, enabling you to progress quickly to create your own independent design concepts. The ancient craft of producing functional ware for indoors and outdoors by hand has changed very little over the centuries, and the emphasis of this course is to explore and develop these techniques and to complete your ceramic forms with a glazed surface decoration.
You will have the opportunity to create your own decorative items for display within the home and garden. This course may also inspire you to create private commissions, exhibitions and micro businesses. Advice and guidance is given to learners wishing to set up independent workshops/studios.
