You will start at Level 4 in the first year, progressing to Level 5 in the second year. This vocational course gives you the opportunity to achieve a foundation degree, combining industry relevant theory, practical assignments and personal development study. It is designed to appeal to those with energy and drive who want to work in, or may already work in, the creative industry and wish to invest in their own development through a higher education degree programme.

Your learning experience will be focused upon live client-led projects and practical work that promotes skill development and the expansion of individual and group creative thinking. The completion of professional engagement projects and competencies will be informed by theoretical ongoing study and reflection. The course is designed to relate directly to the creative industry and will enable students to broaden and enhance their critical understanding of their chosen specialism.

      This course has specialist pathways:

      Graphic design

      Contemporary art and illustration

      Product design and craft

      Fashion, textiles and surface pattern

      Photography

      Moving image

You will have access to specialist facilities which will enable you to experiment with a broad range of media, including digital, print, photographic, textiles, wood, metal, plastics, ceramics and glass. Furthermore, you will have access to our industry equipped Sign and Print Academy, featuring laser cutting, 3D printing, vinyl printing and cutting and fabric printing. You will have the opportunity to undertake real world work experience, live briefs and projects.

As you progress and your confidence grows, you will undertake increasingly complex, challenging and exciting projects. You will also receive advice and guidance on applying to study at University for a BA (Hons) degree on a ‘top-up’ year.

Please note: Specified course fee is full time and per year. A part time option is available at £52.92 per credit.
