Course overview
This is a two year study programme which is equivalent to 3 A Levels, however a one year option is also available which is equivalent to 1.5 A Levels. Both programme years will accrue UCAS points should your chosen progression route be a UK university.

This course will enable you to gain the skills and experience to progress within the contemporary arts industries, covering fine art, illustration and visual communication.
You will be introduced to a wide range of techniques, materials and processes supported with contextual studies, and explore both digital and physical methodologies such as painting, drawing, printmaking and illustration.
You will also attend guest lectures, galleries and gain experience through live projects, competitions and external exhibitions.

Entry requirements
Applicants will be expected to have a minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade 4 including either English or maths
(or) A level 2 subject specific qualification including a level 2 or equivalent in either English or maths
(or) Equivalent occupational experience including level 2 or equivalent in English or maths
Applicants are required to submit 10 images of recent work; this could include developmental/sketchbook work and finished pieces. Each image can have up to 100 characters of supporting explanatory text. Submissions can be made in PowerPoint/Word/PDF formats and have a file size no larger than 20mb. -

How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed periodically on your understanding of each topic through a range of practical and written assessments.

What can I do next?
Previous students have exhibited at a range of local venues, including Sharpes Pottery and the WhyNot Gallery, as well as created wall murals for community groups. Students have also won the Melbourne Arts Emerging Talent award.
Upon completion of the course, you can enter the industry at a junior level or continue into higher education to study contemporary art and illustration at degree level.
