      Safeguarding is important in protecting and promoting the welfare of people who are classed as vulnerable. These people need be cared for in an environment that is as safe as possible.  

      This course is suitable for individuals working in a workplace environment or education setting that may encounter challenging behaviour. This course investigates the difference between conflict and behaviour that challenges, and aggression vs assertive behaviour. You will look at the impact and possible justification for these behaviours, considering what the root cause could be. This course will equip you with pro-active strategies to support positive behaviour.

      This is an online course. You will receive your welcome email with your course login details and further information within 48 hours of enrolment.

      How it works:

      You can sign up to our courses throughout the year. 

      Step 1: Register or login to fill out our online enrolment form by clicking the Apply Now button.

      Step 2: You will receive email confirmation and asked to send a copy of your ID, where relevant, within 48 hours.

      Step 3: You will be sent your login details to start your online learning. 

      Step 4: Depending on your course, you’ll either be automatically marked or have on-hand support and marking from a dedicated tutor. 

      Step 5: Depending on your course, you will either have access to a certificate download to print off, receive an e-certificate of achievement from the awarding body or receive a certificate through the post.

    • What modules will I study?

      Section 1: Understanding the principles of safeguarding adults

      This section covers the main types of abuse and harm as well as the importance of being treated with dignity and respect.

       

      Section 2: Reducing the likelihood of abuse

      This section covers dignity and rights within a care environment as well as the importance of individualised care, safeguarding policies and managing risk.

       

      Section 3: Responding to suspected or disclosed abuse

      This section explores what to do if abuse of an adult is suspected as well as local whistle blowing policy procedures.

       

      Section 4: Protecting people from harm and abuse- locally and nationally

      This section covers possible barriers in alerting or referring relevant agencies as well as legislation and the sharing of information.

       

      Section 5: Safeguarding children

      This section explores what procedures to follow based on profession if a child or young person is suspected of being abused.

      • Interactive and easy to navigate resources

      • Case studies to demonstrate how skills can be applied in practical situations
      • An easy to use, integrated note-taking feature allowing you to jot down information as you work through the learning materials
      • A series of activities to support and prepare you for your assessment.

      Assessments are completed online throughout your course to evaluate your knowledge and understanding of the subject matter. They will be broken down into manageable tasks and once enrolled, you will receive an assessment schedule detailing deadlines so you can plan your studies.Assessments can take many forms but typically they are short written answers to a series of questions or statements.
