      This course is designed for those who wish to gain further skills to develop their careers and progress in the workplace. It is suitable for anyone who is new to a team leading role, or those who are hoping to become a team leader as they advance their careers.

      You will develop and improve your practical skills in order to become a successful team leader with the ability to improve the morale within a workplace. So whether you are hoping to progress to a team leading role in the future, or want more knowledge about how to progress in a current position, this qualification is the perfect place for you to start. 

      This is an online course. You will receive your welcome email with further details within 48 hours of enrolment. Once you have enrolled, you will be asked to provide a copy of an official form of ID, such as passport, before receiving your login details.

      How it works:

      You can sign up to our courses throughout the year. 

      Step 1: Register or login to fill out our online enrolment form by clicking the Apply Now button.

      Step 2: You will receive email confirmation and asked to send a copy of your ID, where relevant, within 48 hours.

      Step 3: You will be sent your login details to start your online learning. 

      Step 4: Depending on your course, you’ll either be automatically marked or have on-hand support and marking from a dedicated tutor. 

      Step 5: Depending on your course, you will either have access to a certificate download to print off, receive an e-certificate of achievement from the awarding body or receive a certificate through the post.

      Live in England

      Must have lived in the UK or EU for the 3 years prior to starting the course

      If aged 19-24 - must hold a full Level 2 qualification or above in any subject (i.e., QCF Diploma Level 2, five GCSEs/O Levels grade A-C, two or three AS Levels, CSE grade 1 5 or more, one A-Level, QCF Certificate, GNVQ Intermediate, First Diploma, NVQ Level 2, First Certificate or Principle of Learning Level 2).  

      If aged 24+ no qualifications are required.  

      Please note, although this is a funded programme, withdrawal or non-completion will result in a charge of £100 to cover administration, registration and learning resources.

      To be eligible for a free place on this course, you must be aged 19 years or over.

    • What modules will I study?

      Unit 1: Principles of team leading 

      This unit will provide you with an understanding of various leadership styles. You will also develop knowledge of team dynamics and the techniques used to manage a team’s workload. This unit also covers the impact of change management and how a motivated team affects an organisation. 

       

      Unit 2: Understand business 

      This unit will increase your understanding of organisational structures and the business environment. You will develop your knowledge of the principles of business planning and finance within an organisation, as well as business reporting, management responsibilities and accountabilities within an organisation. 

       

      Unit 3: Understand how to communicate work-related information 

      This unit will provide you with an understanding of the principles and techniques of work-related communication both verbally and in writing. You will also develop knowledge of a range of documents required for different types of meetings in a business environment.

       

      Unit 4: Understand how to manage performance and conflict in the workplace 

      This unit will develop your knowledge of team performance management through bench marking. You will discover how to manage underperformance within a team and conflict in the workplace.

       

      Unit 5: Principles of equality and diversity in the workplace 

      This unit will develop your understanding of standards and expectations for equality and diversity in the workplace, including the potential consequences for failing to comply with relevant legislation.

       

      Unit 6: Understand how to develop working relationships with colleagues 

      This unit will provide you with an understanding of the principles of effective teamwork and how to buddy a colleague. This unit also covers the benefits of effective team working, how to give feedback constructively and techniques that may be used to resolve team conflicts.

       

      Unit 7: Understand health and safety procedures in the workplace 

      This unit will provide you with an understanding of the main health and safety responsibilities and laws affecting the workplace. You will look at employers and employees responsibilities in relation to health and safety, as well as the support that is available for employees.

       

      Unit 8: Understand how to develop and deliver a presentation 

      This unit will develop your knowledge of the principles underpinning the development and delivery of presentations. You will discover the advantages and limitations of various forms of media, look at the factors affecting contingency plans and consider different ways to evaluate presentations.

    • How will I be assessed?

      • Case studies to demonstrate how skills can be applied in practical situations
      • An easy to use, integrated note-taking feature allowing you to jot down information as you work through the learning materials
      • A series of activities to support and prepare you for your assessment.

      Assessments are completed online throughout your course to evaluate your knowledge and understanding of the subject matter. They will be broken down into manageable tasks and once enrolled, you will receive an assessment schedule detailing deadlines so you can plan your studies.

      Assessments can take many forms but typically they are short written answers to a series of questions or statements. Your personal tutor will support you with any questions you may have relating to the assessment content and process. Your personal tutor will aim to provide feedback on your submission within 7 days and be able to confirm if the submission has achieved the assessment criteria or provide support and guidance if additional work is required.
