    • Course overview

      This course will enable you to gain a strong grounding in general business management, specialising in social marketing. You will study subjects including digital marketing, brand identity decision making, creative communication, project management and event management.

      Throughout the course, you will undertake practical assessments and develop a wealth of transferable, high-level skills that both higher education institutions and employers are looking for.

      This is a two-year study programme which is equivalent to 3 A Levels. The one-year option is also available which is equivalent to 1.5 A Levels. 

      This course is for learners who want to progress to higher education courses in business areas before entering employment. It can also support learners who want to progress directly to employment in business marketing, social marketing and higher apprenticeships in the business sector. As well as preparing you for employment and working in a business environment, it will also give you an insight into a range of different aspects of business relevant to current industry needs.

    • Entry requirements

      Applicants will be expected to have a minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade 4 including either English or maths 

      (or) A level 2 subject specific qualification including a level 2 or equivalent in either English or maths 

      (or) An equivalent occupational experience including a level 2 or equivalent in either English or maths

    • How will I be assessed?

      There is a strong element of practical assessment in the form of internal assignments, external tasks and written exams. Assessment and tasks include writing essays and reports, business research, debates and presentations.

      With this combination of exams and coursework, the range of delivery and assessment methods provides a platform to develop knowledge and skills in a business context to prepare you for future study or the world of work.

      Being confident with maths and English is not only important for everyday life but it’s expected as standard in the world of work. We’re committed to ensuring our learners have the full range of skills that universities and employers are looking for. If you haven’t yet achieved grade 4 (grade C) in English and maths and are aged between 16-18 years, you will continue to study these by undertaking a GCSE re-sit programme or appropriate stepping stone qualifications in addition to your vocational learning programme.

Work experience is a chance to you to spend time on an employer’s premises, observing the workplace, undertaking tasks (under supervision) alongside team members and learning the skills and behaviours needed at work.
