New skills on offer for the New Year!

Burton and South Derbyshire College (BSDC) is launching a range of courses in January, giving people the chance to get the New Year off to a good start by learning new skills.

The College’s part time recreational courses are an opportunity for people to have a go in their area of interest, using the latest facilities in a supportive environment. Starting in January, the College is currently enrolling for recreational courses in areas such as ceramics, fashion construction, photography, jewellery making, creative textiles and print making. 

Additionally, the College is launching a new part time Level 3 course in Sports Massage Therapy and a new programme of Never Too Late to Learn classes. The Never Too Late to Learn classes give mature learners the opportunity to learn new things in a relaxing environment and in good company. The classes cover a variety of themes, including art and craft, poetry, history and days out. There are also companion courses called ‘Look Closer’, which operates like a book club with added history lessons and ‘Gardens and Gardening’ which includes lessons, plant swaps and garden centre visits.

Meanwhile, the College also offers Distance Learning courses for those who would prefer the flexibility of learning at their own pace at home. More details of Distance Learning courses can be found at: www.bsdc.ac.uk/learn-anytime-anywhere.
