Original performance to showcase dance styles
19 December 2019
Burton and South Derbyshire College Dance students have been showcasing a wide range of dancing styles at their annual ‘Danceworks’ event, which was held in the College’s Fleet Street Studios.
The show formed part of the students’ overall assessments and involved performing before a live audience to gain industry relevant experience. They took to the stage for evening performances between 17th and 19th December.
Over the past few months, students have been busy perfecting their routines in the College’s Fleet Street Studios in preparation for dazzling the audience. The event included performances from students on a wide range of dance courses, and included ballet, contemporary dance, jazz, musical theatre and commercial dance.
Zoe Hopkins, Dance Lecturer at Burton and South Derbyshire College said, “We strive to produce exciting, interesting and creative work to a high, professional standard and performances such as ‘Danceworks’ provide the perfect opportunity for students to demonstrate their talent and originality.”
