Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
- How will my induction work and when will I get my timetable?Part of the above has involved splitting classes into distinct groups or ‘bubbles’. Any full time learners who have already applied/enrolled should have received a text message with the details of their induction day. Please note that the groups have been separated this way for your safety and we are unable to make changes to them.
Adult learners and those set to enrol on part time courses will also receive their induction information in the coming week. Please bear with us during this busy time and rest assured that we will be in touch to invite you in for your induction as soon as possible.
On your induction day, you will be greeted at reception by your tutor. They will escort you to your classroom and introduce you to some of your classmates. You will be shown around the College and your tutor will share your timetable and introduce you to your virtual learning environment, as well as explain how you will learn during your first term at college.
- Will I continue to be based at college?
As long as Government guidelines allow, we will be providing some face to face learning activities following the above rules. If the guidelines change and do not allow face to face learning, alternative measures will be implemented so you can still continue your studies.
- What help and support will I receive?
Our team of progress coaches will be there to support you throughout your learning journey! Take a look at the following video to find out how.
- Should I wear a face covering?
All learners and staff are required to wear face coverings in communal areas. If you don’t have a face covering when you arrive for induction, a disposable mask will be provided. It is also mandatory to wear a face covering while using public transport, so please make sure you do so if travelling on public transport to and from college. There is a face mask template available on CANVAS if you would like to have a go at making your own.
It is important that we all follow these rules to keep everyone safe. If you are exempt, we advise that you follow government guidelines and carry an exception card with you.
