Some suggestions...

The government recognises that individual students have faced hardship as a result of the increased cost of living. They have made available additional funding to help address this. The Office for Students (OfS) is distributing the funds (which are in addition to the funds previously announced), which are intended to recognise the challenges faced by students.

    Distribution of funding

The purpose of the funding is to support any HE student who is facing hardship, and in particular, any student who feels that both their continuation on the course, or their ability to achieve a successful outcome, is likely to be negatively affected by the increased cost of living.

Whilst the majority of the funding released by the government will be prioritised to support students nationally whose hardship relates to renting student accommodation, HE providers have the flexibility to distribute funds to those students who are in greatest need of support. This includes students experiencing hardship related to the purchasing of IT devices and connection services. BSDC has already committed to supporting IT solutions from existing funds, and this will allow us to allocate this funding to hardship-related issues.
